New York Knicks point guard Jose Calderon has found himself in the news in recent days, mostly as foil for trade rumors. When news of a potential Jamal Crawford deal leaked, former NBA executive Bobby Marks pointed out that Calderon was the only player on the current roster who could make the trade work.
So does that mean our ham-loving Spaniard is out the door? Not so fast, according to Ian Begley:
FWIW: On that Jose Calderon tweet, league sources said earlier this morning that no trade involving the #Knicks point guard was imminent.

The Calderon tweet he mentions is in reference to bit of fun our boy Jose had at the expense of a Knicks fan on Wednesday:
Hey!!! Wake up!!!!!!! https://t.co/EArVoW9cz5

Oh, Jose, you scamp.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: there's little to no chance Calderon gets traded this season. He's old, coming off an injury, and has another year left on his contract. Besides, the Knicks aren't exactly flush with experienced point guard at the moment. As much as I'd love Jerian Grant (or even Langston Galloway) to step up immediately and take that "lead guard" spot in the Triangle, that may be too much to expect.
So Jose stays, at least for the time being. More ham for all!
