The verdict in Derrick Rose’s civil trial for sexual assault is in. It is as follows:
Derrick Rose and codefendants are cleared of all charges in rape case #Doevrose @nypost
— Julia Marsh (@juliakmarsh) October 19, 2016
Because the jury found Rose not liable, he is not required to pay any money out to the plaintiff. Rose is free to return to the Knicks.
It remains possible that Rose will be charged under criminal law, though that is unlikely at this point:
If there's a "not liable" verdict in the DRose case, hard to imagine there would be a criminal case. Lower standard of proof in civil case.
