Knicks 111, Grizzlies 104: Scenes from a home opener to remember

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at New York Knicks Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks came out on fire and held off multiple grittings and grindings to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies, 111-104. Kristaps Porzingis led all scorers with 21 points. Carmelo Anthony struggled mightily but managed to come up strong late and finish with 20.

Third-quarter Derrick Rose is becoming a thing. The point guard struggled mightily in the first half, but showed off a little razzmatazz coming out of the half.

He looked quite slick at times:

The Knicks looked set to pull away with a quick 12-0 run in the fourth quarter, highlighted by this sweet dish from Joakim Noah to Carmelo Anthony for the and-one layup:

Kristaps Porzingis was running like a damn gazelle and hitting tough runners.

Kyle O’Quinn hit Kristaps with an outlet pass and the young buck went strong to the rack.

The Knicks are now 1-1 and Clyde’s Pumas were on point, as always:
