Don’t look now, but your Westchester Knicks have the best record in the D-League’s Atlantic Division! After dropping their season opener, the W-Knicks ran off five consecutive wins to end the month, culminating in a tense 99-98 win over the Santa Cruz Warriors on Wednesday.
That’s right, folks ... the we won the Battle of the Super Teams(‘s D-League affiliates)!!!!
Here are some highlights, courtesy of Damien Inglis (13 points, 3-14 shooting, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks):
And Chasson Randle (24 points, 10-19 shooting, 4 rebounds, 4 assists):
Randle and Inglis have been the leaders for the Dubitty-Knicks. Randle leads the team in scoring with 21.3 points — though his shooting percentage (41.7 FG%, 30.3 3P%) leave a lot to be desired — while Inglis has contributed 15.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, and a very healthy 3.0 assists. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by his play-making ability from the forward position.
The W-Knicks have made a fortress of the Westchester Civic Center, winning all four of their home games thus far. They’ll be on the road much more often in December, starting Saturday night in Erie, so, like the Big Knicks, they’ll need to find ways to win outside the friendly confines.
