Lost amid the absolute chaos of the Derek Fisher firing was the fate of Knicks forward (and hype man extraordinaire) Thanasis Antetokounmpo, whose 10-day contract has expired. Would the club sign him to a second deal? Sadly, no.
#Knicks did not re-sign Thanasis Antetokounmpo to a second 10-day contract. Is not with team

Thanasis was on the roster for six games, active for five, but only played in two. Derek Fisher hesitated to use him except in the most garbage of garbage times.
Does this mean we shall never again see our own Greek Freak at MSG? Maybe not.
No point now in signing player to 10-day entering ASG but looks like #Knicks stand pat until trading deadline to use xtra roster spot.

The team can only sign Thanasis to one more 10-day deal, so they might as well wait until the optimal time. Perhaps they will call him back if they don't pick up another body by the Feb. 18 trade deadline. Until then, we can always watch Thanasty dunk all over the champs.
