We've got a very special edition of "Wassup in Westchester" today, because Cleanthony Early is back, y'all! The second-year shooting guard took the court Friday night for the first time since being shot in the knee during a Dec. 30 robbery.
Coach Mike Miller inserted him into the starting lineup, and he scored 7 points on 3-8 shooting to go along with 1 rebound and 2 assists in 14 minutes of playing time as the W-Knicks defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, 106-99.
Highlights!
Cleanthony Early (duh)
Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Jimmer Fredette
Darion Atkins
Jordan Bachynski
Here's what Early had to say after the game:
.@Clearly_BallLyf (7p, 14min) following game w/ @wcknicks: "It feels great to be back. I'm taking it slow & getting back in rhythm."
— NEW YORK KNICKS (@nyknicks) March 12, 2016
More @Clearly_BallLyf after his 1st game back w/ @wcknicks: "I'm just happy to be out there moving and competing."
— NEW YORK KNICKS (@nyknicks) March 12, 2016
And here's coach Mike Miller:
Coach on Cleanthony: "It was a successful night for him. He played with a lot of energy, showed his athleticism, and got back in the flow."
— Westchester Knicks (@wcknicks) March 12, 2016
Indeed, Cle looked as athletic and bouncy as ever he did. What an astonishing comeback for the young man. His Knicks teammates on the West Coast took notice:
Happy to see @Clearly_BallLyf is back!#stepbystep

Hopefully this is the start of something great for Cleanthony Early. He's worked his ass off to get back on the court.
