Hey there friend, would you like to know the minutiae of Tony Wroten's contract? That's a rhetorical question, of course ... I know damn well you do.
Added Tony Wroten's 2-year deal to New York Knicks, complex guarantee structure w/ many milestones @BBallInsiders https://t.co/I9EUm5Vt8F

So many deadlines! Let's break 'em all down:
- If Wroten is still on the roster on Oct. 10, his salary guarantees for $25,000 for 2016-17.
- If Wroten makes the opening day roster, his salary guarantees $125,000 for 2016-17.
- If Wroten remains on the roster on Dec. 15, his salary guarantees $345,000.
- Finally, if Wroten is still on the roster on Jan. 10, his salary guarantees $1,050,961.
And there you have it, folks. Wroten's "two-year deal" is covered by no fewer than four provisional deadlines. That's nowhere near as scary as a simple "Knicks sign injured point guard for two years" headline, is it? It still sucks that we won't see the team's 15th man in game action this season, but it's good to know the front office is learning how to cover themselves on deals of this nature.
Get well soon, Tony! I'd like to see some of this in a Knicks uniform:
