Charity is one of the three pillars of the Porzingis faith, along with making a pilgrimage to Latvia and, of course, keeping calm like Kristaps Porzingis. It should come as no surprise, then, that Kristaps is back in Latvia, donating a substantial sum to his old coach:
Back in his hometown, @nyknicks Kristaps Porzingis just gave 50k € (more than 57k $) to his first coach #GivingBack pic.twitter.com/5u9U2Hti9Q

A few stray thoughts:
- That girl standing to Kristaps's right is either tall as hell or she's wearing 25-inch heels.
- Kristaps's first coach bears a disturbing resemblance to Billy Packer.
- It's nice to see that the Latvians also have a fondness for oversize novelty checks.
Kristaps will not play for the motherland this summer in the Olympic qualifying tournament, but that doesn't mean he has forgotten his roots. A check for more than $57,000 isn't exactly chump change for an NBA rookie. But that old Billy Packer lookalike is worth ever penny. He helped give us Kristaps. We should probably send him some money as well.
