Sasha Vujacic signs a one-year deal with the Knicks for the vet minimum

Was there ever a doubt?

*Sigh* ... no sooner do I post an updated "state of the Knicks roster" piece, then a wild Shams Charania appears with his fancy journalizing and adds another name to New York's roster:

Sasha Vujacic is back.

The 32-year-old Vujacic started an incomprehensible 25 games for the Knicks last season. He took over the starting 2-guard job from Arron Afflalo late in the season and then thoroughly outplayed him the rest of the way. Overall Vujacic averaged 4.6 points on 38.3% shooting (36.4% from three) to go along with 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He hit 45.5% of his three-pointers after the All-Star Break, which is somehow a true fact. I had to look it up twice!

Sasha has been a Phil Jackson guy since time immemorial ... or at least dating back to his days with the Lakers. He's tight with Kristaps Porzingis, even taking to time to attend Kristaps's basketball camp in Latvia, and generally well-liked by teammates. Is that enough to warrant a roster spot? Stay tuned!
