Mindaugas Kuzminskas 1, Willy Hernangomez 0.
The two soon-to-be Knicks teammates squared off Monday when Spain took on Lithuania in a friendly. Here's the entire game, if you're that thirsty for basketball. I certainly am. It was a tight, back-and-forth affair, with Lithuania pulling out an 87-83 win in overtime:
Willy started and was matched up against Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas for much of the game. The big Spaniard started off on fire, scoring 8 points in the first quarter. He would only manage 2 more for the game, finishing with 10 points (5-9 shooting), 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. It was a decent performance, particularly in light of this news:
Spanish media reporting Marc Gasol is OUT of the Olympics (foot). Willy Hernangomez essentially guaranteed to be in https://t.co/uJCy3F8PEM

As for Kuzminskas, he scored 7 points on 3-9 shooting to go along with 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Kid really likes to establish position underneath the basket, which is probably why the Knicks like him. We'll see how that works in the NBA.
These two teams will play against on Thursday in Spain. To stress the friendly nature of these friendlies, they even shared the same plane:
Kaunas-Malaga✈️ together with National Team of Spain.
