Carmelo Anthony is pretty dang sure the Knicks' time is now

He said it again and again and again and again.

Joshua Dahl-USA TODAY Sports

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is currently preparing for the Olympics with a stacked (though not as stacked as usual) Team USA squad. And for the first time in a few years, he seems almost equally optimistic about the teammates on his professional club.

Melo was downright giddy in an interview with ESPN, praising Phil Jackson and the front office for assembling what he considers to be "a very special team on paper right now."

But with improved talent comes an increased sense of urgency. Comb through this next Melo quote and try to pinpoint when exactly he thinks his team's time should come:

"The time is now for us," he said. "The time is now for the city and the fans. The time is now. Everybody is tired of waiting and waiting. Now it's time we can go out there and put a competitive team [on the floor]. For me, the time is now. For us as a city and an organization, that should be the mindset -- the time is now."
