The Knicks officially signed Ron Baker to a partially-guaranteed deal

Oh, it's Ron alright.

Man, August is boring. I wish the Knicks would do something ...

Hell yeah! Ron! This has been coming for a while now -- it seemed all but certain that Ron Baker would be invited to camp -- but it's nice to see it announced officially. It is likely a partially-guaranteed contract, similar to the one the Knicks handed Thanasis Antetokounmpo prior to last season's training camp.

The undrafted free agent guard from Wichita State played for the Knicks in Summer League, where he averaged 14 points on 40.0% shooting (37.0% from beyond the arc), 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists. The overall shooting percentage doesn't look good, but it's dragged down by two horrible games to start the Summer League campaign.

The Knicks can invite 20 players to camp, and they currently have 14 players on guaranteed deals, and one Ron. This wouldn't preclude them from also signing Chasson Randle, whom the Knicks are rumored to be pursuing, but it does mean both guards can't fit on the opening night roster without dumping a guaranteed contract (*cough* Marshall Plumlee *cough*).

In conclusion ...
