The two future Knicks are doing very different things at the moment.

There are many new Knicks floating about the universe — mysterious lads we have not yet had the time to analyze and dissect. So it is up to us to scour the vast wastelands of the Internet in order to learn more about these ‘Bockers-to-be.

Let us begin with Willy Hernangomez, who is currently in Rio preparing to play in the Olympics. The Spanish national spoke with Marc Berman over the phone recently, and Knicks fans will be pleased to know he’s been picking up pointers from Paul Gasol:

“Practicing with [Pau], he teaches me a couple of things, shows me some moves, little things to play better in the NBA. It’s a big opportunity for me to play against him in practice. I learned more with him in one month than in one year [in Spain].”

He also went out of his way to pay homage to his good buddy (and archduke of Knicksland) Kristaps Porzingis. He is excited about getting the chance to share the court with his former teammate.

“For me, it’s perfect playing with Kristaps again. It will be more easy feeling part of the team. He’ll help me for sure. With Kristaps, I can feel confident on the court.’’

Apparently former Knick Jose Calderon is trying to facilitate a meeting between Willy and Carmelo Anthony, who will be staying with Team USA on some sort of galleon out at sea:

“I want to talk to Carmelo so he gets to know me,” Hernangomez said. “If he has a couple of minutes, it would be perfect for me.”

Recently-signed guard Chasson Randle won’t get a chance to go to the Olympics and maybe chill out with Melo on Team America’s yacht, but he is excited nonetheless. The Rock Island, Illinois native sat down with a local news reporter

He spoke about his last season abroad, how it helped him mature as a player, and he’s excited to get out there and play alongside the likes of Melo, Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. He’s also ready to work “10-times harder” to secure a spot on the roster.

Hell yeah! Here’s to Chasson Randle and Willy Hernangomez doing all the work, learning all the knowledge, and kicking ass come training camp time.
