Former Knicks big man Kevin Seraphin has found a new home; sadly, that new home is in the nexus of cornfields and Hoosiers zealots known as Indiana. Per The Vertical’s Shams Charania:
Free agent Kevin Seraphin has agreed to a two-year, $3.6 million deal with the Indiana Pacers, league sources told The Vertical.
Seraphin visited the Pacers for workouts on Monday and Tuesday, and his agent, Bouna Ndiaye, finalized the agreement on Thursday night. Seraphin is expected to formally sign next week and the deal will include a team option in the second season, sources said.
Per Knicks fan law, any player who joins the Pacers is officially dead to us. But let us take a moment to remember all that Seraphin brought to this organization. His average of 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game can be replaced, but it was contributions as the team’s unofficial documentarian that truly set him apart. Seraphin’s Snapchat provided some tremendous behind-the-scenes looks at the club, and it was probably the most entertaining part of those crappy last few weeks of 2015-16. Who can forget the team FIFA tournament, or this magnificent trick shot from Kristaps Porzingis?
Without Seraphin, we never would have had access to those moments. And so we wish you the best of luck in Indiana, Kevin. Your time in New York was brief, but entertaining.
Now the Knicks need some other player to step up his Snapchat game. I nominate Sasha Vujacic!
