The Knicks have released point guards Trey Burke and Xavier Rathan-Mayes, as well as forward Nigel Hayes, Saturday morning.

The release comes just hours after the team’s final game of the preseason. None of the three played in Friday night’s finale, a 110-103 loss to the Washington Wizards.

Both Hayes and Rathan-Mayes played for the Knicks in Summer League before signing non-guaranteed training camp deals. Hayes took part in four preseason games, Rathan-Mayes in three. They were joined in camp by fellow Summer Leaguer Jamel Artis, who was released after the first preseason game. Trey Burke signed with the team a few days ago and didn’t play in the preseason.

The Knicks’ roster now stands at 17, though probably not for long. Veteran point guard Jarrett Jack will make the club with Joakim Noah suspended, but is likely to be cut once Noah serves his 12-game sentence. Center Luke Kornet is on the new two-way deal, which means he’ll spend most of the season in Westchester. The Knicks still have one open two-way slot.

As for the newly-cut ‘Bockers, the Knicks retain their G-League rights, so it’s quite possible we see Hayes, Burke and Rathan-Mayes joining Kornet on the W-Knicks.
