Knicks basketball has been back for one week, and already it’s negatively affecting my psyche. New York was absolutely pasted by the Nets on Sunday night, losing by a score of 117-83. And did important players get hurt? You know, baby!
Doug McDermott (sprained left fifth finger) is available. X-rays were negative. Porzingis (sore right hip) will not return.

No idea what happened with Kristaps’ hip. Please be OK, hip.
The starting lineup of Jarrett Jack (looking particularly washed), Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee, Kristaps Porzingis (pre-injury) and Willy Hernangomez looked at the very least competitive against Brooklyn until Kyle O’Quinn came in and started winging line-drive beer pong shots off the rim. From there the rout was pretty much on.
Damyean Dotson got quite a bit of burn (good!) but didn’t shoot particularly well (not important at the moment!). Hardaway had a bunch of turnovers (5) but at least tried a bunch of passes that simply didn’t work out. Willy had 17 points and 12 rebounds, reminding folks that he should be the team’s starting center.

This sequence will probably mark the high point of the preseason.
