Wassup in Westchester: Nigel Hayes scores 37 as W-Knicks terrorize Delaware

Better watch yourself, Delaware!

NBA: Preseason-New York Knicks at Brooklyn Nets Nicole Sweet-USA TODAY Sports

The Westchester Knicks, who needed a massive comeback to defeat the Delaware 87ers on Monday night, made sure no such fourth-quarter work would be needed in the second game of their Delaware back-to-back. The W-Knicks scored the first 12 points on the game en route to a dominating 117-90 win in their rematch with the 87ers. Perhaps they should play all of their games in Delaware!

Nigel Hayes (affiliate player): 37 points on 14-20 shooting (3-5 from beyond the arc), 9 rebounds, 4 assists

Oh God, I’m going to talk myself into Nigel Hayes, aren’t I? The former Wisconsin forward, who looked lost in Summer League, has rampaged through Delaware these past two nights, putting up 22 and 37 points. If he keeps hitting more than 50% of his threes, bullying players with sublime low-post footwork and executing dandy outlet passes, he might just have a shot in the Association.

Isaiah Hicks (two-way contract): 10 points on 5-13 shooting, 12 rebounds

Trey Burke (affiliate player): 19 points on 8-16 shooting (1-2 from three), 8 assists, 4 steals

The W-Knicks are 3-0 and haven’t even played a home game yet. Excelsior!
