Wassup in Westchester: Nigel Hayes rains threes in W-Knicks win

When did he become so good at hitting threes?

The Westchester Knicks strolled into Fort Wayne to face a Mad Ants team riding an eight-game winning streak and won convincingly, 107-94. The W-Bockers burned those pesky magnifying Mad Ants with a magnifying glass in the third quarter, holding Fort Wayne to just 16 points.

Isaiah Hicks (two-way contract): 22 points on 8-14 shooting, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks

Hicks is averaging more than 17 points per game on over 60% shooting. That’s quite good. I’m not sure if it’s NBA good, but it’s definitely getting the job done in Westchester.

Luke Kornet (two-way contract): 13 points on 5-11 shooting (3-5 from three), 10 rebounds, 2 assists

Nigel Hayes (affiliate player): 24 points on 9-17 shooting (4-7 from three), 3 rebounds, 2 assists

One of the more interesting developments this season has been Nigel Hayes’ three-point shooting: he’s now shooting 55.6% on 3.8 three-point attempts per game. Yeah, that’ll do.

The W-Knicks are now 8-4. Pretty nifty.
