MSG has long had a contentious relationship with Knicks legend Charles Oakley. Those problems — whatever they are — spilled over into physical violence in the stands during Wednesday night’s Knicks-Clippers game.

OK, so we don’t have all the info here, obviously, but there have been a few reports from people at the scene. Apparently the fracas erupted between Oakley and MSG security a few feet from owner James Dolan.

The former Knick was rushed away by security and handcuffed, and team president Phil Jackson tried to calm him down in the tunnel:

The fight was shown and reported on the ESPN feed, but as of 8:45 pm ET it has not been mentioned on MSG Network. The Knicks organization released a statement via Twitter:

Oakley played 10 seasons with the Knicks, was a major part of the 1993-94 Eastern Conference champion squad, and ranks in the top 10 in franchise history in several categories.
