This Week in Knicks Social Media: Madness Marches On

College Hoops, Euro Groups and other team doings

Gators in NY!

Hello my darling chickadees waiting for spring. Fear not, some day it will come.

But not yet! Now we are embroiled in the madness that is March, and like the cosmic yo-yo that is this weather, our Knickerbockers are buffeted on the shoals of life. Also, they root for their almas mater in the NCAA Tournament.

Ron Baker doesn’t “produce a lot of original content,” as we say in the social media biz, but when he does it’s all about Kansas pride.

And specifically, of course, the Wichita State Shockers. The sadness of the (pretty brutal, how awesome would it have been if they had won?) defeat leaving him speechless, able only to retweet the great and the good:

Marshall Plumlee of the Duke Plumlees represented his school for Knicks PR...

...but we know how that ended. Look at me not making snarky jokes about Duke because we love you, Marshall (and Lance Thomas!).

Plum’s sadness led him on a journey inward...

...which is good, since it’s very clear that the team needs him in case of zombie apocalypse or sudden loss of cabin pressure (there’s two pics there, scroll through):

Joakim Noah, University of Florida alum and minimalist, gives us the understated tweet of the month. It’s easy to be cool when your team is still in it (HAHA Knicks joke right here kill me now):

It’s also easy to be cool when your team isn’t in it at all. EuroKnicks had other things on their minds. (Pictured here, EuroKnicks):

Mindaugas Kuzminskas is cheering Unicaja Balconesto Malaga, his Spanish League team:

Kristaps Porzingis is all about his hometown team of FC Liepaja (different roundball sport but we’ll count it).

Kyle O’Quinn’s school (Norfolk State) did not make it to the dance this year, but they did, gloriously, his senior year. Flashback!

This left KO’Q free to fill in his brackets without prejudice. Tip: let Kyle O’Quinn help you with your brackets next year because whoa!

Background:

‘Nova’s loss left 9 perfect brackets out of 19 million. We don’t know if Kyle entered ESPN’s challenge, but he should have. This is from after the ‘Nova game:

You want receipts? You’re gonna have to wait:

Now go forth and be not mad, my loves.
