Want more Knicks draft prospect workout news? I know you do, you craven draft workout new junky!
Kentucky's Isaiah Briscoe, South Carolina's Sindarius Thornwell, Duke's Amile Jefferson, Colorado's Derrick White, Florida's Canyon Barry and Columbia's Luke Petrasek, grandson of a former Knick, were all scheduled to workout for the Knicks today, ESPN has learned. Thornwell, Jefferson, Briscoe, Barry, Petrasek were confirmed by ESPN as working out today. It is unclear if White worked out, though he was expected to. Also worth noting: Barry, the son of Rick Barry, was the sixth man of the year in the SEC. The Knicks were his first workout and he's expected to work out for more teams, per Greg Javardian, his representative at Elevation Basketball.
The most famous kid in this group is Thornwell, hero of South Carolina’s run to the Final Four. Feel free to read all about him at P&T’s very own “Know the Prospect” profile. White is predicted to go toward the end of the first round, but Thornwell is projected to go much later; he could very well be around when the Knicks draft at No. 44.
Briscoe is a Jersey kid, a former top high school player whose career never really developed at Kentucky. He’s not projected to be drafted. Jefferson and Petrasek aren’t even ranked by DraftExpress, but Petrasek’s grandpappy played for the Knicks so that’s something I guess???
As for Canyon Barry, he shoot granny-style free throws, and you know Phil Jackson loves that shit for some reason.
