The Knicks selected Damyean Dotson with the 44th pick

Welcome to New York, Damyean!

NCAA Basketball: East Carolina at Houston Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Knicks have made their second selection of the draft, and it’s Damyean Dotson, a senior guard from the University of Houston!

A four-year player who started at Oregon, was dismissed after forcible rape accusations but not charged, then ended his college career at UH, Dotson stands 6’5” with a reported 6’9” wingspan. He scored 17.4 points, grabbed 6.9 rebounds, and shot 44% from three-point range during his senior year. Not bad!

He profiles as probably a spot-up shooter at the next level, and he apparently plays some pretty good defense, so he could be one of these “3-and-D” guys that I’ve been hearing so much about. Between him and Frank Ntilikina, maybe FARTDOG might finally see its timely and well-deserved death.

Follow your newest Knick on Twitter. Tell him your favorite place to grab a beer (unlike these one-and-done jabronis, this dude is 23!). Check out this video of him from DraftExpress:

And most importantly, get hyped! We get at least one more new Knick before this thing is over with.
