Like your favorite neighbor during Halloween, the Knicks keep handing out the goods. This time, the Knicks have signed former Florida State point guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes to an undisclosed contract, per Ian Begley of ESPN.
Knicks say they've signed Jamel Artis, Nigel Hayes & Xavier Rathan-Mayes. All 3 likely have partial guarantees and are signed for 1 year.— Ian Begley (@IanBegley) August 18, 2017
Though the specifications of the contract are not detailed, fans can expect the see Rathan-Mayes at Knicks training camp competing for a spot on the roster in some capacity.
Rathan-Mayes led the 2017 Summer League Knicks in assists with 3.5 per game. He added 6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1 steal per game in just under 18 minutes per contest while shooting 36% from the field and 37% from 3.
Rathan-Mayes sat out the final contest of the Summer League with a sore left knee, but that seemed only precautionary. Stay tuned to P&T for a detailed breakdown of both Nigel Hayes and Xavier Rathan-Mayes’ Summer League play, coming soon. It’s basketball...I swear! Stop laughing!
