Did you miss watching Kristaps Porzingis play basketball? If you answered “no” then get the hell off this website!
Our beloved Unicorn eschewed his regular offseason program of lifting weights and Instgramming it so that he could join his spiritual basketball father Dirk Nowitzki (among others) in the NBA’s 2017 Africa Game, which went down Saturday in South Africa.
The World Team defeated Team Africa by a score of 108-97, but the real story was young Kristaps returning to the court for the first time in eons, dropping a tidy 14 points and 8 rebounds.
Kristaps managed to show off pretty much the whole damn package in this game, except three-point shooting (0-1). There was a magnificent volleyball tip-in off a terrible Kyle Lowry pass (Kristaps’ ability to tip in bad passes has been honed by two years of playing with Knicks point guards). And that crossover...good gravy!
Courtney Lee also turned in a strong showing for Team World, dropping 13 points on 5-10 shooting (3-7 from three) and reminding folks that he is still a pretty good player. All in all, it was a delightful morning of ball in the Southern Hemisphere.
Now get back in the gym and keep on sculpting those guns, Kristaps!
