Ron Baker injured his shoulder on this quick little play last night versus the Nets:
As Ron’s suddenly floppy arm attests, the injury turned out to be somewhat serious:
Medical update: An MRI on Ron Baker’s right shoulder revealed a shoulder dislocation and torn labrum. He will be out indefinitely.— NY_KnicksPR (@NY_KnicksPR) January 31, 2018
Despite his injury, Ron (of course) could not be stopped from bench celebrations, and although it is a bummer for our Heartland Hero, Stefan Bondy of the Daily News thinks it might be good overall for the team, freeing up playing time for the backcourt.
Ron’s injury caps a season of NBA carnage, with Gordon Hayward, Kevin Love, Nerlens Noel, Paul Milsap, Reggie Jackson, Patrick Beverley, Lonzo Ball, Mike Conley, Chandler Parsons, Dion Waiters, Boogie Cousins, Markelle Fultz, Brandon Knight, Kawhi Leonard, Rudy Gay, Thabo Sefolosha, Jeremy Lin, Dante Exum and John Wall all out until the end of February, if not the season. At least he’s in good company.
Heal fast, Ron! We shall miss your mask, defensive intensity and bench celebrations.
