HOLY CRAP DID YOU GUYS JUST SEE THAT GAME?!
DEFENSE! TRANSITION BUCKETS! DUNKS! THREE-POINTERS! OH MY GOD!
...
Sorry, I’ll compose myself. But that game was SO FUN!
The Knicks are undefeated! It didn’t start pretty, but a second quarter eruption, combined with some pesty defense, propelled the Knicks to their first victory of 2018-19 over the Hawks, 126-107.
Where to even begin. Probably with Tim Hardaway Jr.? The Knicks need Hardaway to score this year until Kristaps Porzingis comes back, and boy did he ever score! THJ had 31 points on 10-22 shooting for the ’Bockers tonight.

Kevin Knox had his struggles to be sure, but he scored 10 in his debut. He was vastly overshadowed by fellow rookie Allonzo Trier though, who scored 15 off the bench and basically ended the game at the end of the third quarter:

All in all, seven Knicks scored in double figures tonight — Hardaway, Knox, Trier, Noah Vonleh (12 points), Enes Kanter (16), Mario Hezonja (15) and Trey Burke (15). Truly a transcendent opening night performance for a team as young as the Knicks (facing another young team that was a little shorthanded, but still).
