The return of Joakim Noah!
Well, not quite yet. Interesting though. Of course Jaren Jackson Jr. is starting to do in NBA games what Noah is doing in instagram work outs, but I digress.
Anyway, the Knicks (6-14) are off to Memphis (12-6), David Fizdale’s old stomping ground. Hopefully Fiz and his wife take their dogs to Shelby Farms. Memphis is tied for the best record in the West with the Clippers, who just knocked them down a peg in an overtime thriller on Friday. The Knicks are heading into Grizzly territory on a high, having won their last two against Boston and New Orleans in convincing fashion.
Can Emmanuel Mudiay keep his exploits going against the rock steady Mike Conley? The Grizzlies tend to slow things down and squeeze the life out of your defense. It will be interesting to see if Conley’s pressure leaves Mudiay winded and a step slow when he tries to push the tempo off rebounds and outlets.
Memphis is too methodical and professional for New York. Their attention to detail and execution will overwhelm the Knicks sooner or later.
