Wassup in Westchester: W-Knicks win season opener in Maine

Every Knicks team was a winner Friday.

While most Knicks fans were watching the boys in orange and blue take on the Dallas Mavericks, the other ‘Bockers were plying their trade in the wilds of Maine. The Westchester Knicks kicked off their 2018-19 G League campaign by defeated the Maine Red Claws, 95-92.

The W-Knicks held a lead throughout, though Maine made it close with a fourth-quarter rally.

Affiliate player John Jenkins led the Knicks with 19 points on 8-19 shooting to go along with 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Here’s a clip of Jenkins in action.

Another affiliate player, point guard Kadeem Allen, chipped in 15 points on 5-13 shooting to along with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Two-way contract player Isaiah Hicks scored 16 on 6-10 shooting to go along with 6 boards, but he fouled out in the closing minutes.

The W-Knicks are now 1-0 on the season. They have a quick turnaround, playing the Long Island Nets Saturday in the second game of a back-to-back.
