The New York Knicks practiced in Washington DC Saturday, which just so happens to be the home of Georgetown University, where a certain franchise legend is coaching the men’s basketball team. Head coach David Fizdale took this opportunity to invite our hero to watch practice and speak to the Knicks’ players.
If rookie big man Mitchell Robinson takes the court Sunday night wearing oversized knee pads and sweating profusely, we’ll know he got Ewing’s message.
Saturday’s practice was also notable because injured rookie Kevin Knox participated in 3-on-3 drills.
Knox is playing three on three for the first time since spraining his ankle. Still likely out another week.— Steve Popper (@StevePopper) November 3, 2018
Still out another week? I want him back now, dammit! Oh well, it looks like we’ll have to get our awesome rookie fix from Mitchell Robinson and Allzono Trier for the time being. Seriously, though, it must sting a bit for Knox — he must be chomping at the bit to get back and prove himself after watching his fellow rooks not only play, but play meaningful crunch-time minutes. I can’t wait until the rookie gang is reunited on the court.
