On Tuesday evening, The Ringer sent NBA observers (especially on Twitter) into fits of ecstasy and schadenfreude when the platform released a shocking exposé from writer Ben Detrick. The article alleges that Philadelphia 76ers general manager Bryan Colangelo has used several Twitter burner accounts. Under the guise of regular Sixer fans, Colangelo would defend his own regime while trashing former GM Sam Hinkie, as well as several Sixers players.
Sure, the story is hilarious, but what does this have to do with our New York Knicks? Well apparently one of those burner accounts has a very high opinion of Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis...and a low opinion of Colangelo’s own big man, Joel Embiid.
Earlier this season, HonestAbe compared him unfavorably to the Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis. “I am a Philly fan but out trade The process for The Unicorn in a heart bit,” the account wrote. “Such a smarter player.”
Now let me caution you, dear reader, that the Sixers organization has vehemently denied these allegations. That’s being said...
