Heat 129, Knicks 114: Pat Riley is still the devil

Not fun.

The New York Knicks got the crap kicked out of them by the Miami Heat on Friday night. Those wretched Heaters blitzed the ‘Bockers right from the opening tip and cruised to an easy 129-114 victory.

Was there a fake comeback? Kinda. The Heat were up by 34 points in the third, but then Bobby Portis (30 points, 12-17 shooting) got red-hot and the Knicks cut the lead to 17. So they cut the deficit in half, but there was still no chance they were actually winning. If anything, it kinda sucked to burn one of Portis’ rare hot shooting nights.

Mitchell Robinson had a nice, efficient scoring line — 18 points on 8-9 shooting — but he fouled out for the first time in awhile, and was assessed a Flagrant 1 on his sixth and final foul of the night.

Mostly, this game just sucked. I remarked earlier on social media that the Heat will be better than the Knicks until Pat Riley dies...and Pat Riley will never die. That about sums up my feelings tonight.

Recap to come.
