Hello fellow Knicks fans, and welcome to hell. It’s colder than you’d think! Kristaps Porzingis is gone, but questions remain. Here are some of them.
What in the name of god?
What exactly went wrong, and when did it start?
Were things irreparable ever since Phil Jackson signaled that he was shopping Porzingis in the summer of 2017?
Did the distrust begin before that? Does it date back to how badly the Knicks handled the first couple of years of KP’s career?
Was it completely naive to think that the Phil Jackson era could possibly have a silver lining in the form of getting to have Porzingis for his whole career? How dumb are we for thinking KP might be here long term?
How much of this can be blamed on Janis Porzingis? Some? All? Should Janis be used as a scapegoat?
Is it somehow Toby’s fault? Is Toby... not a good boy?!
Do the Knicks not realize how good Porzingis is?
What’s the deal with Steve Mills?
Did Mills text Woj immediately after the Knicks met with KP in order to start getting the Knicks side of the story out there? Did he text Woj secretly under the table while him and Scott Perry were still in the meeting with Porzingis?
What did David Fizdale know, and when did he know it?
Why would anyone trust the Knicks version of what happened here?
Why did the Knicks PR shout at us when first announcing the trade? Did the team learn nothing from Dan Gilbert’s Comic Sans letter?

What did Porzingis mean with this Instagram story he posted and then quickly deleted on the night of the trade?

What other KP trades were on the table? Did the Knicks start shopping him in secret and then he found out, leading to the relationship becoming completely irredeemable?
Isn’t Porzingis a restricted free agent, meaning the Knicks should have had leverage in the situation?
Why was the first public statement made by Porzingis a post indicating how pumped he was to go play with Luka Doncic in Dallas as opposed to thanking Knicks fans and saying that while he’ll miss New York, he’s excited for a new opportunity?
Why did his second post, the one where he said “New York will always have a special place in my heart,” feel so insincere? Was it written by Janis as a PR move to make up for KP’s initial post?
Is KP going to come back this season? How long until we are forced to watch him in a Mavericks uniform?
Are the Mavs going to win a championship in a few years?
What if KP wins the NBA MVP some day?
Will we be happy if Porzingis never returns to his superstar form? Is true happiness a feeling we’re capable of?
What’s it going to be like at Madison Square Garden when Porzingis finally returns as an opponent?
What’s with this delusion from fans and analysts alike that the Knicks are actually going to land two top tier free agents this summer now that they have cap space?
Why hasn’t Carmelo Anthony made a snarky post of some kind yet? Will he? Which emojis will he use?
The Knicks wouldn’t re-sign Melo in some kind of ridiculous attempt to appease an angry fan base, would they?
What does this mean for the future of Frank Ntilikina?
Will Dennis Smith Jr. win the dunk contest this year?
How does one convince their own brain to stop being a fan of a particular sports team?
Is this really all LeBron James’ fault for showing other players that they could have the power? What kind of reckoning is all of this going to lead to when it comes time for the NBA to negotiate a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the player’s union in a few years?
What happens next for the Knicks?
Finally, one more time, why?!?!
Goodbye, Kristaps. It’s true what they say. Unicorns aren’t real.
