The most highly-anticipated game of the Las Vegas Summer League is going down on Friday, July 5, and it will involve your own New York Knicks. That’s right, folks: Pelicans vs. Knicks. Zion Williamson vs. RJ Barrett — once teammates and best friends, now fated to duel on the hardwood.

The game will take place at 9:30 p.m. EST and will be televised nationally on ESPN. Here is the rest of the schedule:

  • Sunday, July 7th, 9:30 EST vs. Phoenix
  • Tuesday, July 9th, 9:30 EST vs. Toronto
  • Wednesday, July 10th, 9:30 EST vs. LA Lakers

This will be followed by an eight-team playoff tournament. Might the Knicks make a playoff for once? It’s possible!

According to the official release schedule, it appears that at least the first three games will be on ESPN. That’s good for me, as this writer does not get NBA TV.

What’s more, Tommy Beer has learned that last year’s rookie phenom, Mitchell Robinson will play in Vegas — not in every game, but “likely at least two games.” Fellow former rooks Allonzo Trier and Kevin Knox are also likely to play.

Now that the draft is over, July can’t get here soon enough. In the meantime, here’s some workout footage of RJ to whet your appetite.
