Y’all ready for this? The Knicks of summer are back in TV town. New York is set to take on the Summer Wizards in a consolation battle of the humdrum bums. Washington didn’t really hit switches this summer even though you probably thought only the Knicks fell short. No way, lady. Lots of folks struggled. Whatever happens, though, this is the end of the road.
Now look here, we’re not gonna see these cool guys for a while. So get a big cup of your fav bev, a rockin’ good snack and enjoy the last real look at these Knicks for a while. After this it’s on you to get going out there in the world, on your own, to live your hottest girl summer.

The Wizzlers have juggled their starting lineup a bunch and didn’t always run with Rui Hachimura and the boys, so it’s possible they’re just over it and want summer to be done. The Knicks have stayed pretty true to their starting lineup throughout. Allonzo Trier was replaced by Ignas Brazdeikis after the earthquake game and that’s been the only alteration.
Be that as it may Mitchell Robinson will have to mentally prepare for Anzejs Pasecniks and Jeff Withey! Hate to see it. The Wizards will also trot out the 90-teen year old Isaac Bonga. I’m sure the Knicks will be perplexed.
Key Matchup
As much as I am a Hachimura hater, I still want to see what Kevin Knox does with this palooka. Knox has shown some more tenacity than we were accustomed to by the end of last season. Maybe he just smells blood in the Summer League air and wants to keep some dead things so he can come back to vet camp and show David Fizdale some killed keeps. I’m good with that.
Now if they slot Hachimura down to the small forward, he’ll be pitted against the big igloo, Iggy Brazdeikis. Chop his ass up, Iggy!
Prediction
The Knicks will be able to contain the Wiz frontline reasonably enough but get blitzed by the guards. I wholly expect Armoni Brooks to bang six of his nine three-pointers with the Knicks confusing their coverage on pick and roll most of the game. Mitchell Robinson will sky over the top of the Wizards en route to 20 points and 20 rebounds. Knox will have an off night but RJ Barrett will have his best game of Summer League.
