We’re in the dog days of NBA summer — Summer League has been over for a while now, and the rush of free agency has ended. You know what that means, right? It’s time for WORKOUT SZN!
We begin with with four of the Knicks’ recently-signed free agents: Elfrid Payton, Bobby Portis, Julius Randle and Taj Gibson. The quartet is working out together in LA with Knicks fitness guru Mubarak Malik, and they are recording it for the ‘gram.
In case you were wondering to yourself — “Sure, Julius Randle looks jacked, but is he really that jacked? — let me reassure you that he is, in fact, that jacked.

So most of the Knicks’ veteran imports are working out together. That’s cool to see — building a brotherhood and all. Of course, the way this offseason has gone, I’m waiting for the eventual “Are the Free Agent Four building a secret faction to tear apart team unity???” thinkpiece. That’ll be fun.
Back in New York, incumbent point guard Dennis Smith Jr. has been working out with famed trainer Chris Brickley and the likes of Trae Young.

In non-workout news, former Knick Trey Burke signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Burke left New York last winter as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade. Maybe he’s working out too. It’s not really our concern anymore.
Happy Workout Szn, y’all. Get it the gym and flash that six-pack.
