It’s high time we checked in on New York Knicks wunderkind Mitchell Robinson. I’m sorry to say, folks, that the news isn’t all good. Hopefully you didn’t tune in to Friday night’s Team USA scrimmage hoping to catch a glimpse of Mitch, who is on the USA Select Team. Sadly, Mitch injured his knee earlier in the week practicing with the squad, and was held out of the game for precautionary reasons.
Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson will sit out of the Team USA scrimmage on Friday as a precautionary measure due to a knee ailment, per SNY sources.

The knee injury is supposedly minor, but yes, let’s definitely keep him out; Mitch probably wasn’t going to make the final FIBA World Cup roster anyway. Young Sacramento Kings big man Marvin Bagley was transferred from the Select Team to the main squad following Friday’s scrimmage, so maaaybe Mitch had a chance if he had stayed healthy, I suppose. Whatever. This leaves Frank Ntilikina as the lone Knick remaining in the World Cup draw.
In happier news, Mitch is still dominating in the “good son” department, as he bought a new car for his mom.
The best thing you’ll see all day:

If that doesn’t warm your heart, go root for the Nets.
