The NBA Draft is a little more than a month away. For Knicks fans, this year’s draft is the team’s most mysterious in years. “Years?” you scoff. Yes. Last year RJ Barrett was the obvious choice after Zion Williamson and Ja Morant went one/two. The last time we entered draft night with uncertainty was 2018. Technically, that’s years ago.
All the mock drafts and Know The Prospect pieces under the sun don’t get us any closer to what we want to know — whom will the Knicks draft? There is relief, if not joy, when that answer finally arrives. In the meantime, it’s fun to spitball who we’d go for, or not, and why. Last year, picking third, the options were limited. This year, with New York picking eighth, they’re rampant.
The Knicks have been linked with James Wiseman, Deni Avdija, Devin Vassell, Isaac Okoro, Tyrese Haliburton, Obi Toppin, Onyeka Okongwu, Killian Hayes, Patrick Williams, trading up for LaMelo Ball or trading down and landing Kira Lewis Jr. If they move up, and especially if they move down, that list grows even longer.
So who would you select for the Knicks? Is the glass half-full enough to trade up? Half-empty enough to trade down? If you’re cool staying at #8, who ya got? There’s a poll below for everybody; the water’s fine. Also, we’re going to run a piece sometime before the draft featuring a bunch of youse spending a paragraph or two explaining your takes. You give us life. It’s the least we can do.
Fire away in the comment section, and if you’re interested in some spotlight email matthew.miranda.13@gmail.com with a take you’d be cool having published. You have time, so don’t rush. Breathe and share, yo. Breathe, then share.
