We know that the Knicks have shown interest in Kira Lewis Jr., but what about another PG prospect that could fall to them at No. 8, Killian Hayes? We heard many months ago that the Knicks had an online meeting with the French guard, but this is workout time for draft prospects. Did the New York brass reach out to schedule a workout? Are they even that interested in Hayes?
Yes, they are interested, according to Marc Berman of The Post:
The Knicks’ priority in this draft is to take a scoring point guard, with southpaw sensation Killian Hayes high on their radar, but that’s not a given. Hayes may not even be there.
And yes, they at least tried to schedule a workout, according to Bleacher Report draft guru Jonathan Wasserman:
Hayes never got a workout with Knicks. Tried to make it work but recent Covid spike prevented it.

So it turns out the Hayes workout is yet another casualty of the recent COVID spike. The Knicks are right to have interest in Hayes, in my humble opinion — he’s a tremendous PG prospect, and the team, as currently constructed, could sure use a long-term solution at PG. Then again, Kira Lewis could also fit that bill. Then again, there are other good non-PG prospects who could help out.
Only one more week until draft day, folks!
