CAA takeover reengaged.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire for New York. James Dolan hates learning lessons and is perpetually bent on repeating mistakes. As long as he’s in good company, he seems fine making his money hand over fist and succumbing to the will of more virile men. Eventually the mistakes of the past will echo into the Knicks’ future and Dolan will impose his petty vengeance on another friend. This time it’s Leon Rose.

Rose has represented such Knick luminaries as Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani, JR Smith, Eddy Curry, Renaldo Balkman and Mardy Collins (who, if you don’t recall...). He’s from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, he’s an attorney. Things don’t end well for the Knicks because they never start well. If there’s any hope it’s that this approach to team building has garnered success for the Lakers and Warriors.

Dolan and the Knicks quickly turned away from the potential to sign a bonafide front office man like Masai Ujiri or Sam Presti if they had only been willing to bide their time. This is the second CAA takeover of the Knicks. Steve Mills was not fired, he was reassigned. The Knicks are the butt of the joke again. They just don’t want that writing to come off the wall.

Trade deadline is only a few hours away. We’ll see what the player empowerment movement brings the Knicks. So far no players have had a chance to react.

GOD DAMN IT! Should have known, right Jim?
