Did you buy season tickets for the 2019-20 New York Knicks? If so, then congratulations on having a great deal of disposal income! Also, you’re about to get some money back, per Marc Berman of The Post.
The Knicks emailed their season-ticket holders Monday morning informing them they will get a full refund on the eight postponed regular-season games — or have option of rolling it over to next season with a gift for doing so.
The coronavirus pandemic ended the Knicks’ season back in March, with eight home games remaining on the schedule: vs. Charlotte, Golden State, LA Clippers, Toronto, Minnesota, Miami, Orlando, Detroit. There were definitely some winnable games in that stretch, and it’s sad that we never got a chance to see if RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson and Frank Ntilikina could have built on their recent solid play. Then again, we probably would have suffered through approximately 8,000 Elfrid Payton/Julius Randle offensive sets, so it’s not all bad.
Knicks fans are in a different position than fans of, say, the Lakers or Bucks. We don’t really stand to benefit if the 2019-20 season ever resumes — hell, I say cancel the whole damn thing and let’s get to the draft lottery already!
