Up until now, we’ve only heard about the Knicks interview fringe draft prospects likes Seton Hall’s Myles Powell or JUCO player Jay Scrubb. But president Leon Rose often works in the shadows, like a damn ninja.
As it turns out, Rose and the Knicks have been working the phones and the Zoom with the best international prospect in the 2020 Draft, French point guard Killian Hayes, according to a podcast with Hayes’ agent.

Hayes, who played this past season for Ratiopharm Ulm of the German Basketball Bundesliga, is considered by most draft experts I’ve read to be the top international prospect in the draft, and the second-best point guard prospect behind LaMelo Ball.
Intriguing. Yes, the Knicks already have a French point guard, but there’s always room for more!
Nobody is sure how the hell this draft order is going to shake out, but there’s a decent chance the Knicks, who have the sixth-best lottery odds, won’t get a chance to draft Hayes unless they move up.
Some good news from this podcast is that the Cavaliers, who drafted point guards in the last two drafts, aren’t even considering Hayes. The Cavs finished with a worse record than New York, so there’s a good chance they will be picking ahead of New York.
