Thunder 101, Knicks 89: Scenes from the Knicks come crashing down to Earth

Crap game.

The New York Knicks were favored for the first time all season. Let’s hope they’re never favored again.

I’m not sure if the Knicks believed their own press clippings or if they just suck, but they didn’t really show up on Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They took a brief 11-point lead because the Thunder aren’t particularly good and couldn’t hit a shot to save their lives, but the Knicks’ offense isn’t exactly a well-oiled machine either.

The Thunder second unit, which consists of like four teenagers and Mike Muscala, destroyed a pathetic Knicks bench to get back into the game by halftime, and then OKC pretty much rolled from there on out. Julius Randle was in foul trouble most of the game. Elfrid Payton sucked, and Immanuel Quickley came into the game and arguably sucked even worse. RJ Barrett sucked. Mitchell Robinson was pretty good, but didn’t play in crunch time for some reason. There were some odd decisions by Tom Thibodeau. Just a butt juice contest all around.

This play was pretty cool.

There was a a buzzer-beater by Austin Rivers at the end of the third quarter that was pretty cool too, but I’m not going to look for it. Forget this game.

Matt Miranda has the recap. Worst game of the season.
