Wow, what a game! Usually, Summer League games—even close games—are rough on the eyes. Credit the young Knicks and Lakers for leaving it all on the court on a random Wednesday night in August.
The Knicks held a slim lead for much of the first three quarters, but they couldn’t shake LA. The Lakers eventually took the lead back, but were repelled by the magnificent backcourt duo of Immanuel Quickley and Miles McBride.
IQ weighs about 110 pounds, so naturally the Lakers thought they could push him around throughout the contest. Boy, were they wrong. IQ shot an uncharacteristic 1-6 from three, but still ended up with 25 points because he dominated inside the arc (6-9) and at the free-throw line (10-10).

The vet IQ was nearly matched by the rookie McBride, who dropped 22 points on a scorching 6-6 from beyond the arc. Deuce only had 2 points in the first half, but still made his impact on the defensive end.

In the second half, whenever the Knicks needed three points, McBride was always there to provide.

Sorry if you went to bed early. I’ll have a recap up in the morning. I gotta pass out. Peace and Knicks!
