On MLK Day, it is high time the NBA got off the slave block.
Using the term "on the block" for players being offered for trades is so overwhelmingly offensive, it hardly seems worth explaining. Somehow NBA media industry is unaware that this is an explicit reference to the sale of slaves at auction to the highest bidder, just as teams seek the best offer for a player available to trade.
The use of this term should have been universally condemned and discarded long ago. Please help end it by passing this along.
